This is a full-time, on-site architect role at a young European defence-tech company building mission-critical systems for the security of Germany and its allies. About the Role As Senior Principal Systems Engineer at Falk Defence GmbH in Leipzig, you hold the technical reins of the entire weapon system. You own the overall architecture, unify the engineering disciplines, and make the design calls that determine how capable and deployment-ready our guided flight vehicles are. It is a central architect position with genuine authority to shape the complete system from day one. Key Responsibilities Own the complete technical architecture of the weapon system Derive, specify, and maintain requirements across system, subsystem, and component levels Safeguard technical consistency across every engineering discipline Drive technical trade-off analyses and make well-founded design decisions Integrate aerodynamics, mechanics, electronics, navigation, and software into one coherent end-to-end system Support verification and validation throughout the full development lifecycle Qualifications Completed degree in aerospace engineering, electrical engineering, systems engineering, or a comparable field Several years of experience with missiles, aviation, or similarly complex systems Solid background in systems engineering and requirements management Familiarity with military requirements and operational scenarios A pragmatic, results-driven approach paired with strong systems thinking A track record of taking hardware through to flight test is an advantage Experience with MBSE or SysML and knowledge of relevant military and aviation standards are a plus Knowledge of electronic warfare is a plus Very good German (at least C1) and good English Citizenship of an EU or NATO member state (excluding the USA) and willingness to undergo a security clearance under SÜG About Falk Defence GmbH Falk Defence GmbH develops cutting-edge technologies for missiles, guided flight vehicles, and launch systems in the military domain.
