This full-time, on-site role sits at the heart of how Europe's leading digital bank builds and scales safely. About the Role As Senior Legal Counsel Banking Law at N26 in Berlin, you will join our Banking Law & Litigation team and act as a trusted strategic advisor to senior management and the Management Board. Your mission is to translate complex regulatory requirements into legally sound, practical concepts — guiding everything from the growth of our banking, trading, and crypto offerings to N26's expansion into new European markets. You will keep agility and rigorous compliance in balance, making sure that every product vision aligns with supervisory law. Key Responsibilities Support the launch and scaling of forward-looking banking and financial products, including trading and crypto offerings. Provide end-to-end legal counsel to management and the Management Board on existing and new banking, trading, and finance products. Assess intricate regulatory demands and design compliant frameworks for new products in a fast-moving environment. Partner closely with the Product and Compliance teams so that innovation and regulatory adherence advance together. Serve as point of contact during regulatory audits and confidently lead dialogue with supervisory authorities. Independently manage relationships with external legal advisors while ensuring top-tier advisory standards. Run court proceedings and dispute resolution autonomously, overseeing significant cases across all instances. Qualifications Fully qualified German lawyer (Volljurist) with above-average results in both the first and second state law examinations. At least 4 years of professional experience, a substantial portion in banking and finance law at a respected law firm and/or an international company, ideally including fintech. Thorough knowledge of banking and finance law and adjacent legal fields; exposure to other areas of law is welcome. Ideally, a completed specialist training course (Fachanwaltslehrgang) in banking and capital markets law, or you already hold the corresponding specialist title.
