How to use this kit

Ground every answer in facts on this page and the original listing. We never invent Glassdoor-style reviews or salaries that are not in our data.

Interview prep

Prepare examples where you advised on a transaction or dispute: issue spotting, precedent/research, options, and business-ready recommendation. Be ready to discuss how you balance speed with risk for a growth-stage tech company, and how you handle multi-stakeholder fact gathering. Review UK commercial and employment basics relevant to software businesses.

Fit summary

Strong fit if you are a qualified lawyer who enjoys in-house counsel work—advising product and leadership, drafting and negotiating, and steering risk—more than pure litigation. Preference for candidates comfortable with ambiguous commercial facts and practical, prioritised advice in a UK setting.

Day in the role

As Senior Legal Counsel at LocalStack, a typical day centres on advising the business on transactions, contracts, and legal risk—not courtroom advocacy by default. You interpret laws and regulations for product, sales, and ops; analyse precedents and likely outcomes; gather facts from stakeholders; evaluate options; and develop clear strategies so leaders can decide whether to pursue, defend, or settle issues. Work often includes commercial agreements, liability and rights questions, and guidance before government or regulatory touchpoints when they arise.

Skills to emphasize

Prioritise commercial contracting, regulatory interpretation, and structured legal analysis. Strengthen fact-finding with business stakeholders, risk assessment, and clear written advice. No certification list was supplied for this posting—use firm or bar requirements for your jurisdiction rather than assumed badges.
