About the Role

ASRC Federal Advanced Research, LLC (AFAR) is looking for a skilled Senior Geospatial Engineer to help support a prospective contract with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) and its National Weather Service (NWS) in Norman, Oklahoma. The NWS runs a sophisticated, deeply interconnected network of systems devoted to gathering, processing, and distributing weather data and forecast products. In this position, you will apply advanced geospatial analysis to keep that enterprise accurate, reliable, and operationally ready.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver senior-level GIS and geospatial engineering support across NWS data collection, processing, and dissemination workflows.
• Analyze, visualize, and interpret geospatial datasets tied to weather observations and forecast products.
• Help maintain and improve the interconnected systems that drive weather data operations.
• Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to translate spatial data into actionable insight.
• Provide responsive, on-call assistance as project and mission needs arise.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated senior-level experience in GIS analysis or geospatial engineering.
• Strong command of geospatial tools, spatial data management, and analytical methods.
• Familiarity with complex, enterprise-scale data systems; experience with weather, environmental, or scientific data is a plus.
• Ability to work effectively on-site in Norman, Cleveland County, Oklahoma.
• Self-directed, detail-oriented, and comfortable supporting mission-critical operations.
