Job Overview

We’re seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Finance Manager to oversee financial operations, reporting, and compliance within a fast-paced remote environment. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with a UK-based company and strong familiarity with HMRC regulations, PAYE, VAT, and related financial processes.

This role is best suited for someone with solid accounting and finance leadership experience, strong organizational skills, and clear communication abilities. While the role is not client-facing, excellent written and verbal communication is essential to ensure smooth internal collaboration and accurate financial reporting.

Core Tasks:

  • Build, maintain, and update weekly and monthly cash flow forecasts
  • Prepare and manage monthly P&L statements and financial reporting packages
  • Analyze financial performance and identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities
  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping and financial data entry
  • Process accounts receivable and accounts payable activities
  • Triage and manage the finance inbox, escalating issues when needed
  • Enter and organize invoices, bills, and payment records
  • Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
  • Follow up with vendors regarding invoices, payment status, and discrepancies
  • Maintain and update weekly cash flow tracking reports
  • Assist with expense tracking and financial reporting
  • Coordinate with internal teams to ensure timely payment processing
  • Maintain organized financial records and supporting documentation
  • Support payroll preparation and related administrative finance tasks
  • Assist with ad-hoc finance and operations projects as needed

Must-Haves:

  • 5+ years experience in finance, accounting, or financial operations
  • Strong experience managing bookkeeping, AR/AP, reconciliations, and reporting
  • Hands-on experience preparing and managing P&L statements
  • Intermediate – advanced Excel and / or Google Sheets skills (reporting and modeling)
  • Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks (or similar)
  • Ability to analyze financial data and communicate insights clearly
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail
  • Professional written and verbal English communication skills
  • Experience managing vendors and cross-functional finance workflows
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced remote environment
  • Ability to work full-time UK-aligned hours

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience supporting U.S.-based startups or SMBs
  • IFRS accounting / finance certifications (or similar)
