Based in India, this full-time position puts you at the center of how Mattel connects with customers and partners through EDIFACT, ANSI X12, and TRADACOMS standards. About the Role As the Senior EDI Engineer, you will architect, design, and govern complex EDI solutions that exchange data between Mattel's IBM iSeries (AS/400) ERP backend and our external EDI service provider, OpenText (GXS). Working hand-in-hand with internal stakeholders and Mattel's Global EDI Delivery Manager, you will own the technical direction of partner onboarding from first design through stable production. This role calls for 5–8 years of hands-on EDI experience and someone ready to serve as the senior escalation point for the toughest integration challenges. Key Responsibilities Define EDI technical architecture and lead the design, review, and validation of mapping requests and transformations. Coordinate and run integration and partner testing, then drive compliant, dependable production deployments. Manage APRF and SNRF file exchange in UTF-8 between OpenText (GXS) and the iSeries ERP, including partner setup profiles for extracting and uploading transactions. Act as the technical escalation point for complex issues spanning communication, mapping, application, and data layers. Champion continuous improvement of EDI processes and standards, and mentor junior EDI team members. Qualifications Extensive, hands-on expertise across ANSI X12, EDIFACT, TRADACOMS, and XML-based standards, including partner-specific implementations worldwide. Deep grasp of message structures — envelopes, segments, elements, qualifiers, control numbers, acknowledgements, and compliance validation.
