Senior Data Center Commissioning Engineer

Oracle is hiring a Senior Data Center Commissioning Engineer to join its Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team based in Five Points, Wake County — a critical role at the heart of Oracle's hyperscale AI data center expansion.

About the Role

As a Senior Data Center Commissioning Engineer at Oracle OCI, you will own end-to-end commissioning activities across large-scale data center builds, ensuring that mission-critical infrastructure is delivered safely, on schedule, and to Oracle's demanding quality and operational standards. You will be a key technical voice bridging design, construction, and operations throughout each facility's lifecycle.

What You'll Do

• Lead and execute commissioning programs for electrical, mechanical, and controls systems across hyperscale data center projects
• Develop, review, and implement commissioning plans, integrated system test scripts, and acceptance criteria
• Coordinate directly with general contractors, equipment vendors, and Oracle engineering teams to drive issue resolution and schedule adherence
• Perform and oversee functional performance testing of critical power (UPS, PDUs, generators) and cooling infrastructure (chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, cooling towers)
• Review design documentation, drawings, and specifications to identify constructability and commissioning risks early
• Maintain thorough commissioning records, punch lists, and closeout packages to support operational handover
• Champion site safety by enforcing OSHA standards and Oracle health and safety protocols throughout all commissioning phases
• Collaborate with data center operations to validate readiness and support a smooth transition to production

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a closely related discipline
• 5+ years of hands-on data center commissioning experience, with demonstrated ownership of Cx activities on hyperscale or enterprise-class facilities
• Deep working knowledge of critical power and cooling systems and their control sequences
• Familiarity with BMS/BAS platforms, SCADA systems, and integrated system testing methodologies
• Solid understanding of ANSI/TIA-942, ASHRAE guidelines, and relevant NEC/NFPA standards
• Strong ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams in a fast-paced construction environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with engineering, construction, and operations stakeholders
• Willingness to travel to active project sites as required
