Knak is hiring a Senior Analytics Engineer to join our remote team in Canada — a foundational, full-time role that will define how an entire company gets to its data. This is the first dedicated data engineering hire at Knak, with architectural ownership from day one. About the Role As Knak's Senior Analytics Engineer, you'll architect and own the governed query layer that sits on top of Snowflake, where our product usage, customer, pipeline, revenue, and behavioral data lives. Today, most of the company can only reach that data through one or two people. Your mission is to change that — building the per-department views, PII-scrubbing logic, documentation, and connection standards that let analysts, AI agents, and downstream tools self-serve safely. This is a senior individual-contributor position with greenfield scope, tied to a 90-day plan with executive visibility. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain read-only, per-department Snowflake views covering product, customer, pipeline, revenue, and behavioral signals — making the calls on materialization, refresh cadence, and access boundaries. Unblock Knak's AI Champion Program, powering real projects across Customer Success, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Security that are currently waiting on governed data access. Encode PII handling and contractual data restrictions directly into view logic, validating constraints alongside the Security team. Partner with DevOps to define connection standards — authentication, rate limiting, error handling, and approved deployment paths — for AI agents and internal tools. Modernize the analytics codebase: replace brittle stored procedures and one-off SQL with version-controlled, tested, modular models using dbt or an equivalent, and introduce CI for SQL changes. Document every view and own the data contracts behind key Tableau and Mixpanel dashboards. Set technical conventions, lead SQL code review, and mentor analysts as the data team grows. Qualifications Senior-level experience building and owning analytics infrastructure on Snowflake. Strong command of advanced SQL, dimensional data modeling, and transformation tooling such as dbt. Hands-on experience with data governance, PII handling, and access control at the warehouse layer. Familiarity with sources and tools including Salesforce, Tableau, Mixpanel, and Gong. A collaborative communicator who can scope requirements with department leaders and defend architectural…
