Role overview (listing rewrite)

WorkBoard is hiring a full-time Senior Accountant to join our finance and operations team, based in Redwood City, California or fully remote within the United States. This is a high-ownership role for a numbers-savvy generalist who turns ambiguity into momentum. About the Role As a Senior Accountant at WorkBoard, you'll do far more than close the books. We're seeking a resourceful, multi-skilled professional who treats messy, undefined problems as openings rather than obstacles. You'll own core financial work, smooth out daily operations, and step into challenges that don't yet have a clear owner. If you're energized by variety, comfortable adapting on the fly, and motivated to find answers without a detailed playbook, you'll thrive here. Key Responsibilities Manage daily and monthly transactions across accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll support, and expense tracking. Keep financial records accurate and assist with account reconciliations. Contribute to financial reporting, dashboards, and budgeting cycles. Partner with outside accountants and auditors on tax, compliance, and reporting, including support for international entities. Serve as a flexible contributor across operations — HR, legal, procurement, facilities, and IT. Build and refine workflows, document SOPs, and lead special projects that introduce new tools and systems. Support employee and vendor onboarding and offboarding, and act as a connector between teams to clear roadblocks. Qualifications Five or more years in finance, accounting, operations, or a comparable generalist position. Solid command of financial statements and accounting workflows, with hands-on use of tools like Sage Intacct, QuickBooks, or NetSuite. Strong spreadsheet and data-analysis skills; familiarity with project management tools is a plus. A bachelor's degree in business, accounting, finance, or a related discipline is preferred. Detail-driven, highly adaptable, and trusted with confidential information.
