Security Consultant

IOActive is hiring a full-time Security Consultant in Seattle, King County to help leading organizations identify, understand, and remediate the threats facing their most critical systems. About the Role

As a Security Consultant at IOActive, you will partner with a team of seasoned researchers to assess the resilience of hardware, software, and infrastructure across a wide range of client environments. Based in Seattle, this position blends hands-on technical assessment with clear, actionable reporting that helps clients reduce real-world risk.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform security assessments, penetration tests, and vulnerability research against applications, networks, and systems.
• Identify weaknesses, demonstrate exploitability, and recommend practical, prioritized remediation steps.
• Document findings in detailed technical reports and communicate results clearly to both engineers and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with fellow consultants and researchers to refine methodologies and tooling.
• Stay current with emerging attack techniques, threats, and defensive practices.

Qualifications

• Solid grounding in offensive and defensive security concepts, including common vulnerability classes and exploitation methods.
• Hands-on experience with security testing tools and techniques across web, network, or system layers.
• Familiarity with one or more scripting or programming languages for building tooling and proofs of concept.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to varied audiences.
• A curious, methodical mindset and a genuine passion for understanding how systems can fail.
• Eligibility to work full-time on-site in Seattle, King County.
