This is a full-time position supporting students in grades 6–12 at our US-based school. About the Role As a Secondary Special Education Teacher at Hammond Academy of Science and Technology, you will work directly with students in grades 6 through 12 who have diverse learning needs. What You'll Do Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to each student's strengths and learning goals Provide direct instruction using evidence-based strategies for students with learning disabilities and emotional/behavioral disorders Collaborate with general education teachers to ensure students access appropriate accommodations and modifications in mainstream classes Assess student progress regularly and adjust interventions to support continued growth Create inclusive, supportive classroom environments where secondary students feel engaged and motivated Maintain comprehensive documentation of student progress and actively participate in IEP meetings with families and colleagues What We're Looking For State certification or licensure in special education for secondary grades (6–12) Bachelor's degree in special education or a related field Experience working with students who have learning disabilities (LD) and emotional/behavioral differences (ED) Strong communication and collaboration skills with teachers, families, and support staff Dedication to fostering academic achievement and social-emotional growth in adolescents Knowledge of special education compliance, IEP processes, and instructional differentiation About Hammond Academy of Science and Technology Hammond Academy of Science and Technology serves approximately 600 students in grades 6–12.
