Take command of life-saving missions over the Big Island as a Rotor Wing Pilot - IFR with Life Flight Network in Kamuela, Hawaii. This full-time, on-site role puts an experienced instrument-rated helicopter pilot at the heart of critical air medical transport across one of the most rewarding flying environments in the country.

About the Role

As an IFR Rotor Wing Pilot based in Kamuela, Hawaii, you will safely transport patients, medical crews, and equipment during emergency and inter-facility flights. This Kamuela base is preparing to operate a brand-new H145 D3 helicopter, giving you the opportunity to fly modern, state-of-the-art equipment in demanding terrain and changing island weather.

Key Responsibilities

• Pilot rotor wing aircraft for emergency medical and patient transport missions under both VFR and IFR conditions.
• Make sound go/no-go decisions, prioritizing crew, patient, and aircraft safety above all else.
• Conduct thorough pre-flight inspections, weight-and-balance checks, and post-flight reporting.
• Coordinate closely with medical crews, dispatch, and air traffic control throughout each mission.
• Maintain currency, complete required training, and successfully pass your initial checkride and recurrent evaluations.

Qualifications

• Commercial rotorcraft-helicopter certificate with an instrument (IFR) rating.
• Proven helicopter flight experience and a strong, demonstrable commitment to aviation safety.
• Ability to meet Life Flight Network and FAA currency, medical, and training standards.
• Willingness to relocate to or work from the Kamuela, Hawaii base on a full-time schedule.

Compensation & Highlights

• Starting salary range of $123,461.52 to $145,869.35 depending on experience, with annual increases awarded each year on your anniversary date.
• $10,000 sign-on bonus paid once you complete your initial checkride.
• $50,000 retention bonus distributed across your first three years of employment.
• Off-duty housing provided.
• A brand-new H145 D3 helicopter coming soon to this base.
