Role Overview In this RN Telephonic Nurse role, you serve as a key clinical partner delivering direct patient and caregiver education through telephone communication. Your responsibility is to provide condition-specific and medication-specific instruction within established clinical protocols, assess patient needs, and document clinical information while collaborating with patients' physicians and supporting colleagues. You'll function as a wellness coach, helping patients navigate treatment and maintain optimal health through knowledge and encouragement within a nursing team that prioritizes continuous learning and professional development. Core Duties Deliver disease and medication education via telephone to patients and caregivers following clinical protocols and nursing scope standards Perform clinical assessment, documentation, and monitoring of patient health data Communicate new symptoms or health concerns to the treating physician Serve as a wellness coach, empowering patients to achieve their health goals Contribute to new employee orientation and peer mentoring initiatives Participate in quality assurance reviews of clinical documentation to maintain team excellence Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in compact nursing format; residency in a compact nursing state is required Minimum two years of clinical nursing experience Successful completion of the NCLEX or equivalent state licensing examination Ability to apply for and maintain compact licensure and any additional single-state licenses without restrictions or encumbrances Previous completion of Microbiology coursework (required for California nursing licensure eligibility) Substantive clinical knowledge in at least one specialty: Neurology, Multiple Sclerosis, Rheumatology, Dermatology, Pulmonology, Gastroenterology, Infectious Disease, Asthma, Oncology, or Pediatrics Working proficiency with Microsoft Office tools Minimum internet service of 10 Mbps download and 5 Mbps upload speeds via cable or fiber-optic provider Strong professional communication skills and patient-centered telephone etiquette Working at The Cigna Group The Cigna Group invests in employee…
