As a full-time clinician working the night shift at 0.9 FTE in Bozeman, MT, you will combine hands-on clinical skill with reassuring communication so every family feels supported from admission through recovery. The position requires round-the-clock readiness to respond to changing patient conditions and to uphold seamless coordination with physicians, midwives, and the wider care team. Responsibilities Perform ongoing maternal and fetal assessments, including electronic fetal monitoring interpretation and vital-sign trends, to detect early signs of complications. Administer ordered medications, fluids, and interventions while maintaining precise, real-time electronic documentation of the labor course. Prepare the suite and support the care team during spontaneous vaginal births and cesarean deliveries, ensuring equipment readiness and sterile technique. Provide immediate postpartum nursing care that includes hemorrhage surveillance, pain management, infant bonding support, and breastfeeding initiation. Educate patients and partners on maternal recovery, newborn safety, and discharge instructions so families leave confident and well-informed. Respond promptly to obstetric emergencies, initiate appropriate protocols, and participate in structured hand-off communication with day-shift colleagues. Champion infection-prevention practices, patient privacy, and a calm, family-centered environment throughout every night-shift assignment. Skills & Qualifications Active registered nurse licensure allowing practice in Montana. Proven clinical competence in labor support, fetal assessment, and postpartum recovery care.
