Bottomline is seeking a full-time Revenue Accountant to join our accounting team in Portsmouth, NH. In this key finance role, you'll ensure accurate revenue recognition and support financial reporting for a global payments and cash management leader. About the Role As a Revenue Accountant at Bottomline, you'll own revenue recognition and transaction accounting for a global payments company. This role sits at the heart of our monthly and quarterly financial close process, ensuring compliance with ASC 606 standards while managing multiple revenue streams across our SaaS, on-premise, and services business models. Your Responsibilities Manage revenue recognition across diverse customer arrangements, including SaaS subscriptions, on-premise licenses, usage-based fees, and professional services engagements, applying ASC 606 principles to ensure accuracy and compliance Oversee deferred revenue and customer cost accounts, handling capitalization, amortization, and period-end reconciliations Process Nexus payer rebates, including calculation, validation, and payment documentation across the business Lead monthly and quarterly accounting close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and audit-ready workpapers Collaborate with Finance, Sales Operations, Deal Desk, and Systems teams to resolve revenue questions and support evolving business models Support internal and external audit functions through documentation, inquiry response, and explanation of revenue transactions Identify and implement process improvements and automation to enhance scalability, controls, and operational efficiency Assist with special initiatives including system implementations, acquisitions, new product launches, and revenue policy updates Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent professional experience Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in an accounting function Working knowledge of ASC 606 revenue recognition principles and internal control frameworks Proficiency with Microsoft Excel including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and macros Experience or familiarity with business systems including ERP, CRM platforms, and financial software Proven ability to work accurately and independently in a fast-paced environment, while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills with meticulous attention to detail Background in SaaS or technology sector accounting (preferred) Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365, Salesforce, or revenue recognition software such as Revpro (can be developed on the job) Authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis without visa…
