About the Role

As a Retail Store Associate with Goodwill of Central Iowa, you'll be an essential part of a team that turns donated goods into opportunity — for shoppers, for the community, and for people working to build better lives. This is a part-time position (10–29 hours per week) with flexible scheduling across weekday and weekend shifts.

What You'll Do

• Receive and process incoming donated merchandise, evaluating items for quality and saleability
• Sort, price, and organize donated goods to prepare them for the sales floor
• Create visually appealing, well-stocked merchandise displays that drive sales
• Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately and efficiently
• Deliver warm, attentive customer service that reflects Goodwill of Central Iowa's core values of love, kindness, and respect
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment
• Support fellow team members across departments as store needs shift throughout the day

What We're Looking For

• A positive, team-first attitude and genuine care for customers and coworkers
• Ability to stay organized and productive in a fast-moving retail environment
• Comfort handling physical tasks such as lifting, sorting, and moving donated items
• Basic cash-handling or point-of-sale experience is a plus, but not required
• Reliable availability for shifts scheduled Monday through Sunday between 8:00 AM and 10:00 PM
• No prior retail experience required — Goodwill of Central Iowa provides training
