About the Role
As a Research Associate, you will spend your days at the laboratory bench carrying out core molecular biology techniques on human blood samples. This on-site position in Carlsbad places you inside a platform integration team that connects assay development with prototype design and testing, giving you meaningful exposure across the product development lifecycle and room to grow your technical expertise.
Key Responsibilities
- Extract DNA from human blood samples following established laboratory protocols.
- Set up and run polymerase chain reaction (PCR) workflows accurately and reproducibly.
- Prepare and process samples for sequencing and support related downstream analysis.
- Contribute to assay development efforts in close coordination with the platform integration team.
- Assist with prototype design and testing as new platforms move from concept toward validation.
- Maintain detailed, accurate records of experiments and bench activities.
Qualifications
- Practical, hands-on experience with molecular biology bench techniques.
- Working knowledge of DNA extraction, PCR, and sequencing methods.
- Comfort handling human biological samples in line with safety and quality standards.
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical, reproducible approach to laboratory work.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a cross-functional team.
- Willingness to work full-time and on-site in Carlsbad, San Diego County.
