Dandelion Energy is hiring a full-time Regional Drilling Lead in Columbia, Howard County, to spearhead the growth and refinement of our geothermal drilling operations across Maryland. This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for a hands-on operator who thrives at the intersection of strategy, technical depth, and team management.
About the Role
Reporting directly to the VP of Drilling, the Regional Drilling Lead owns the success of Dandelion's drilling program throughout the region. The position blends startup-minded ambition with disciplined operational execution, giving you ownership over how our crews scale, perform, and improve in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct the regional expansion and continuous optimization of geothermal drilling operations in Maryland.
- Lead, mentor, and coordinate a regional group of drilling crews to deliver safe, efficient results.
- Translate strategic goals into actionable plans through thoughtful planning and resource management.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align field execution with broader company objectives.
- Provide technical leadership and drive measurable gains in drilling productivity and quality.
Qualifications
- Proven leadership experience managing drilling crews or comparable field operations teams.
- Strong command of drilling techniques and operational best practices, ideally within geothermal or related sectors.
- Demonstrated ability to plan strategically while staying accountable for day-to-day execution.
- An entrepreneurial mindset paired with the discipline to manage complex, multi-team operations.
- Collaborative communication skills for working across functions and engaging diverse stakeholders.
