Charles T Sitrin Health Care Center is seeking a dedicated Recreation Leader for Rec Therapy on a temporary, full-time basis in New Hartford, Oneida County. About the Role

This temporary Recreation Leader Rec Therapy position runs through the summer season, with the possibility of transitioning to a per diem arrangement afterward. Reporting to the Director of Recreation Therapy, you will support the Therapeutic Recreation department across the center's skilled nursing and rehabilitation units, helping plan and deliver engaging recreational programming tailored to individual needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather relevant information about each resident or patient at intake from their attending physician, and continue to coordinate with appropriate clinical professionals on an ongoing basis.
• Plan, lead, and facilitate therapeutic recreation activities for residents in the skilled and rehab settings.
• Adapt recreational programs to the abilities, interests, and care goals of the individuals you serve.
• Collaborate closely with the Director of Recreation Therapy and the broader care team to promote resident wellbeing and quality of life.

Qualifications

• Genuine interest in therapeutic recreation and working with skilled nursing and rehabilitation populations.
• Ability to coordinate with physicians and clinical staff to inform recreational care.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
• Availability for a full-time, temporary summer schedule, with openness to continued per diem work.
