Ready Mix Plant Manager

CalPortland is hiring a full-time Ready Mix Plant Manager to lead daily operations at its Valley Village facility in Los Angeles County — a hands-on leadership role at one of Southern California's most respected construction materials producers.

About the Role

As Ready Mix Plant Manager, you'll take full ownership of plant performance, driving efficient concrete production while upholding CalPortland's standards for quality, safety, and environmental responsibility. This is a critical position for a company that supplies the materials behind some of LA's most significant construction projects.

What You'll Do

• Direct all day-to-day ready mix plant operations, including batching, production scheduling, and delivery coordination
• Supervise, develop, and hold accountable a team of plant operators and support staff
• Maintain strict quality control over concrete mix designs to meet customer specifications and industry standards
• Enforce OSHA and company safety protocols across all plant activities
• Oversee preventive maintenance and equipment upkeep to minimize downtime
• Manage raw material inventory — aggregates, cementitious materials, and admixtures — to sustain uninterrupted production
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and CalPortland's sustainability commitments
• Partner with dispatch and sales teams to meet customer delivery timelines and volume demands
• Track and report key operational metrics, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce costs

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience managing operations at a ready mix, aggregate, or construction materials facility
• Proven supervisory or team leadership background in a production or industrial environment
• Working knowledge of concrete mix design principles and batching systems
• Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and safety best practices for plant environments
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven operation
• Solid communication skills for coordinating across production, dispatch, and customer-facing teams
