R&D Senior Innovation Chemist

Bright Innovation Labs is seeking an R&D Senior Innovation Chemist to lead our chemistry innovation team in New Albany, Franklin County, and help shape the next generation of breakthrough products.

About the Role

As the R&D Senior Innovation Chemist, you will be a strategic, hands-on technical leader reporting to the Director of R&D. In this full-time, on-site position, you will guide a team of Innovation Chemists, speed up how new ideas move from concept to execution, and help build a stronger, more visible innovation pipeline. This role is central to positioning research and development as a true engine of business growth and a source of competitive advantage for Bright Innovation Labs.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and coordinate a team of Innovation Chemists to deliver high-impact projects.
• Partner closely with the Director of R&D to set technical direction and innovation priorities.
• Accelerate the pace at which innovative concepts are validated and brought to fruition.
• Strengthen and expand the company's innovation pipeline with new formulations and approaches.
• Champion the value of R&D across the organization as a driver of growth and differentiation.
• Apply rigorous scientific methods to solve complex chemistry challenges.

Qualifications

• A degree in chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline.
• Substantial hands-on experience in chemical research, formulation, or product innovation.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop technical teams.
• Strong strategic thinking paired with deep technical expertise.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills across cross-functional groups.
• A track record of translating scientific ideas into practical, market-ready outcomes.
