About the Role The Internal Partnership Tax Team manages PwC's own tax compliance and strategy at the state and local level. As a State & Local Manager, you'll be central to this effort—working directly with partners to address complex tax challenges, maintain full regulatory compliance, and identify opportunities for tax optimization. You'll travel up to 20% of the time to support the firm's locations and strategic initiatives. What You'll Do Develop and execute state and local tax strategies that align with firm objectives while maintaining full compliance Analyze the firm's exposure to state and local tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions Advise partners and senior leadership on tax positions, planning approaches, and risk mitigation Ensure timely and accurate completion of state and local tax filings and documentation Research and interpret evolving state and local tax laws and regulatory changes Manage relationships with external tax advisors and state and local tax authorities Lead tax research projects and respond to special matters requiring detailed analysis What We're Looking For Deep expertise in state and local tax law, compliance, and planning CPA license or advanced tax credential, such as an L.L.M. in taxation Substantial professional experience in state and local tax matters, advisory, or compliance Knowledge of partnership tax structures and related tax considerations Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities Ability to manage multiple complex projects and priorities concurrently Excellent communication skills—both written and oral—for explaining tax concepts to diverse audiences Detail-oriented and proactive approach to tax matters About PwC PwC is one of the world's leading professional services firms.
