About the Role
As a Project Engineer at Atkinson Construction, you'll be central to the successful delivery of innovative design and construction solutions on heavy civil projects. Working alongside experienced teams, you'll manage project logistics, coordinate on-site activities, and ensure every phase meets strict quality and safety standards. Your responsibilities will span planning, scheduling, resource coordination, and day-to-day project oversight.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain project schedules, timelines, and resource allocation plans
- Coordinate between design, construction, and client teams to ensure alignment and seamless execution
- Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement solutions to keep work on track
- Conduct site inspections and maintain detailed project documentation and records
- Support quality assurance and safety compliance across all project activities
- Track budgets, costs, and equipment usage to optimize project efficiency
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field (or equivalent construction experience)
- Solid understanding of heavy civil construction methods, materials, and best practices
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, plans, and technical specifications
- Experience with scheduling software and standard construction management tools
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills
- Commitment to safety-first practices and OSHA compliance
