About the Role As a Process/Chemical Engineer Energy – Remote, you will help deliver Small Modular Reactor and nuclear fuel cycle facility projects for SNC-Lavalin's US Nuclear group. The work spans design, operations, and project management for both legacy fleets and new-build nuclear assets, with a strong emphasis on safety, regulatory compliance, and technical excellence. Key Responsibilities Shape system architecture, flow diagrams, and piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for nuclear facilities, auxiliary systems, and fuel cycle models. Assess systems, structures, and components for chemical safety, criticality control, radiation shielding, and defense-in-depth under normal, off-normal, and accident conditions. Confirm that every design meets local, state, and federal requirements, including DOE and NRC regulations and nuclear quality assurance standards. Specify and validate mechanical components, valves, and vessels built to perform in highly regulated, hazardous environments. Produce process drawings, Process Flow Diagrams, and Engineering Flow Diagrams, and prepare or approve mass, energy, and flow balance calculations plus pipe and equipment sizing. Author equipment specifications, drive resolution of technical issues, and manage change control while overseeing the work of consultants and subcontractors. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
