About the Role
Freeform is reimagining how complex hardware gets made by treating the entire manufacturing process as one unified, intelligent system. As a Principal Simulation Engineer based in Los Angeles County, you will sit at the intersection of computational physics and real-world production, developing the simulation tools that allow designers to build, test, and scale industrial parts without the traditional constraints of legacy manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and refine high-fidelity simulation models that capture the physics of advanced manufacturing processes.
- Translate complex physical phenomena into reliable, production-grade computational tools.
- Partner closely with software, hardware, and design teams to embed simulation directly into Freeform's integrated manufacturing platform.
- Drive technical direction on simulation strategy, setting standards that scale across the organization.
- Validate models against real-world results to continuously improve accuracy and predictive power.
Qualifications
- Deep, senior-level expertise in physics-based simulation, numerical methods, or computational modeling.
- A strong track record of building simulation tools that influence real manufacturing or hardware outcomes.
- Fluency in connecting software, hardware, and physics into cohesive engineering systems.
- The technical leadership and judgment expected of a principal-level engineer.
- Willingness to work on-site full-time in Los Angeles.
