Principal, Art Direction – GenAI

Dept® · United States

How to use this kit

Ground every answer in facts on this page and the original listing. We never invent Glassdoor-style reviews or salaries that are not in our data.

Interview prep

Prepare a portfolio narrative of AI-assisted campaigns, how you uphold craft and IP/brand safety, and examples of leading cross-functional creative teams. Be ready to critique weak GenAI outputs and describe process from brief to ship.

Fit summary

Strong fit if you already lead art direction at a high bar and can operationalize GenAI without sacrificing taste. Thin company/sentiment DATA means culture and team signals should be validated in the interview.

Day in the role

As Principal, Art Direction – GenAI at DEPT®, a typical day centers on setting visual direction for generative-AI creative work: briefing designers and AI practitioners, reviewing outputs for brand and craft quality, and aligning stakeholders on concept, style systems, and production readiness. Expect critique sessions, pipeline decisions (prompting, references, guardrails), and mentoring junior art/creative talent rather than pure execution.

Skills to emphasize

Prioritize senior art direction, brand systems, and GenAI creative workflows (image/video models, human-in-the-loop review). No certification resources or costs were supplied in CERTS.
