About the Role
As a Plumber 1 within the Maintenance Division of the Hiram G. Andrews Center (HGAC), you will keep the facility's plumbing systems running reliably so that daily living, instructional programs, and rehabilitation services continue without interruption. This on-site position in West End, Dauphin County places skilled tradework at the heart of a mission focused on workforce readiness and meaningful opportunity.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, repair, and inspect plumbing systems, fixtures, and related equipment throughout the Center.
- Diagnose leaks, blockages, and malfunctions, then complete timely corrective repairs.
- Support uninterrupted operation of facilities that serve residential living, classrooms, and instructional programs.
- Carry out preventive maintenance to keep water supply, drainage, and related systems in safe working condition.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance Division team to respond to service needs across the campus.
Qualifications
- Practical, demonstrated experience performing plumbing installation, repair, and maintenance work.
- Working knowledge of plumbing systems, tools, materials, and applicable trade standards.
- Ability to troubleshoot problems independently and complete repairs efficiently.
- Commitment to performing on-site duties full-time at the West End, Dauphin County location.
