Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of Feedzai’s core platform and Risk Engine
- Build and maintain high-performance, scalable, and resilient backend services
- Work across the full software development lifecycle, from design to production support
- Write clean, reusable, and testable code, participating actively in code reviews
- Support the evolution towards a microservices and cloud-native architecture
- Ensure system reliability through observability, automation, and operational best practices
- Participate in production support and on-call rotations for critical systems (with compensation)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Product, Data Science, and Engineering
- Contribute to engineering best practices, technical guidelines, and continuous improvement
- Participate in recruitment and help attract top engineering talent
Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in backend software development, preferably with Java
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (mandatory)
- Strong foundation in computer science principles and software engineering best practices
- Experience building high-performance, concurrent backend systems
- Familiarity with distributed systems and messaging/data platforms (e.g., Kafka, RabbitMQ, Spark, Cassandra)
- Experience with cloud environments and modern software architecture patterns
- Strong problem-solving mindset and ability to work independently
- Interest in scalable systems, performance optimization, and system reliability
- Bonus: contributions to open-source projects
- Strong motivation to learn, grow, and challenge technical constraints
