About the Role
As a part-time Physical Therapist with Paola USD 368, you will work the equivalent of three days each week from August through May, serving students through the East Central Kansas Special Education Cooperative (ECKSEC). This cooperative brings together several area districts—including Louisburg, Paola, Osawatomie, and Central Heights—to deliver coordinated special education services to the children who need them most.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide school-based physical therapy services to special education students within the ECKSEC member districts.
- Assess student mobility, motor function, and physical development needs in alignment with each individualized education program (IEP).
- Partner with teachers, families, and the multidisciplinary team to set goals and track student progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to ongoing evaluations across the school year.
- Support students consistently throughout the August-to-May calendar at roughly three days per week.
Qualifications
- Current licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist in the state of Kansas.
- Experience working with children or in a special education environment is highly valued.
- Strong communication skills for collaborating with educators, parents, and cooperative staff.
- Ability to commit to a part-time schedule for the 2026-2027 school year.
