What This Role Involves As a Group Accounting trainee, you'll gain practical exposure to the financial processes that consolidate results across a multinational organisation. Working remotely, you'll contribute to the preparation and validation of consolidated financial statements whilst developing your technical accounting knowledge in a structured corporate environment. This mandatory practical internship bridges your academic studies and professional practice, offering genuine insight into how large enterprises manage group-wide financial reporting and compliance. Responsibilities Support the preparation and reconciliation of consolidated accounts and financial statements Assist with general ledger maintenance, account analysis, and journal entry processing Participate in month-end and year-end financial closing activities Help maintain documentation and ensure compliance with accounting standards and group policies Contribute to the organisation and filing of accounting records and audit-related materials Support the external audit process by preparing schedules and explanations as required Work with accounting systems and ERP platforms to record and verify transactions What We're Looking For Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field Strong understanding of accounting principles and consolidated financial reporting (or demonstrated willingness to develop this knowledge) Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with ERP or accounting software is advantageous Fluent in German and English; additional languages welcome Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills Ability to work independently and engage collaboratively with colleagues in a remote setting Genuine interest in corporate accounting and financial processes Working at Continental Continental is a globally recognised automotive technology and mobility solutions organisation with over 150 years of industry leadership.
