What This Role Involves As a PCI Internal Security Assessor, you'll serve as the primary compliance guardian for PCI DSS requirements, reporting directly to the Chief Information Security Officer. Your mission is to evaluate, maintain, and strengthen the security controls that safeguard sensitive payment information. Working with internal teams and external Qualified Security Assessors, you'll drive continuous improvements in security posture while meeting all regulatory obligations. Core Duties Execute regular compliance assessments and internal audits to verify PCI DSS alignment Design and deploy PCI compliance frameworks, including policies, procedures, and security controls Manage the annual certification process, coordinating with external auditors and preparing Self-Assessment Questionnaires and Attestation of Compliance documents Identify security risks to cardholder data environments and recommend mitigation strategies Oversee vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and security reviews to detect control gaps Lead training sessions and provide ongoing security guidance to staff across departments Monitor changes to PCI DSS requirements and industry standards to maintain current compliance Report compliance status to senior leadership and external stakeholders Partner with vendors and service providers involved in cardholder data processing Skills & Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Information Security, Computer Science, cybersecurity, or equivalent professional experience Minimum 3–5 years working in information security, PCI compliance, or related disciplines Professional experience as a PCI ISA, QSA, or comparable security role Certified PCI ISA or PCIP credential (or willingness to obtain) Additional certifications valued: CISSP, CISM, CISA, or CEH Expert knowledge of PCI DSS standards and cardholder data protection methodologies Working familiarity with security frameworks (NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls) and defensive technologies (firewalls, intrusion detection, encryption) Strong analytical thinking, troubleshooting, and project coordination abilities Excellent interpersonal and cross-functional collaboration skills Hands-on experience with security assessment tools and SIEM platforms Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and integrity Exceptional attention to detail and organizational discipline Willingness…
