HomeLight is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support end-to-end payroll operations across multiple entities, maintaining payroll data integrity, supporting audits, and improving payroll efficiency in a high-growth, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • Own end-to-end payroll processing for U.S. employees, including wages, taxes, benefits, and garnishments
  • Ensure compliance with IRS regulations, FLSA, and state-specific labor laws
  • Manage payroll for St. Lucia–based employees, including PAYE, NIC, and statutory deductions
  • Manage payments and compliance for international contractors
  • Process terminations, final paychecks, incentives, gifts, and off-cycle payroll adjustments
  • Track leaves of absence to ensure accurate classification and pay treatment
  • Set up and manage employee garnishments and loans
  • Maintain employee and organizational data; review and approve employee-initiated changes
  • Monitor and respond to payroll-related inquiries
  • Perform payroll audits and reconciliations; identify and resolve discrepancies
  • Ensure accurate year-end reporting (W-2s, 1099s, and international equivalents)
  • Partner with HR and Finance on onboarding, offboarding, and payroll-related matters
  • Lead annual 401(k) audits and support payroll-related audits
  • Work with payroll systems to automate processes, troubleshoot issues, and support scalable operations
  • Monitor payroll tax law changes and review regulatory filings to mitigate compliance risk
  • Document and update payroll processes and procedures
