Intermountain Health is seeking a full-time Patient Service Representative – Float Pool to serve as the primary point of contact for patients across multiple clinic sites in Tallahassee, Leon County.

About the Role

In this float pool position, you'll bring consistency and warmth to patient interactions across a variety of Intermountain Health departments and clinic locations throughout the Tallahassee area. As the first face patients encounter, you set the tone for their entire care experience — and your ability to adapt quickly, communicate clearly, and problem-solve on the spot is what makes this role essential to our care delivery model.

What You'll Do

  • Greet and register patients at check-in, verifying demographic and insurance information to ensure accurate records
  • Schedule appointments, coordinate referrals, and actively manage patient flow to reduce wait times and improve throughput
  • Collect copayments, post charges, and clearly explain each patient's financial responsibility
  • Field patient inquiries by phone and in person, resolving concerns efficiently and escalating complex situations to the appropriate clinical or administrative team members
  • Partner with physicians, nurses, and clinic staff to support smooth day-to-day operations across assigned locations
  • Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and all Intermountain Health policies governing patient privacy and data integrity
  • Transition seamlessly between clinical departments and float pool assignments throughout Leon County
  • Champion Intermountain's values by delivering a respectful, compassionate experience at every patient touchpoint

What We're Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior experience in a medical office, clinic, or healthcare front-desk environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology, electronic health records (EHR) systems, and insurance verification procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with a genuine commitment to patient-centered service
  • Flexibility to float across multiple Tallahassee-area clinic locations and adapt quickly to varying workflows
  • Ability to stay organized, accurate, and professional in a high-volume, fast-paced setting
  • Comfort with standard scheduling software and office productivity tools
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and capable of working with minimal supervision across diverse care settings
