This role allows you to build direct relationships with grieving pet owners while providing skilled, respectful medical care during their pets' final moments. You'll work with a team that prioritizes individualized care and honors both the pets and families we serve. What You'll Do Conduct in-home veterinary consultations and assessments for end-of-life and hospice cases Perform humane euthanasia procedures with compassion and technical expertise Provide medical guidance on pain management and quality-of-life decisions Document clinical findings and communicate clearly with pet owners about their options Coordinate aftercare services and support families through the grieving process Travel throughout Chula Vista, San Diego, and surrounding communities What We're Looking For California state veterinary license (DVM or VMD) Strong communication skills and empathy for grieving pet owners Experience or genuine interest in end-of-life and hospice care Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule within our service area Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally About Heartstrings Pet Hospice, In-Home Euthanasia & Aftercare We're a privately owned, independently operated practice built on the values of Compassion, Dignity, and Respect.
