About the Role As National Account Director on the Payer Team, you will serve as the primary relationship manager for national commercial payers, pharmacy benefit managers, and other key accounts. You will develop and execute account-level strategies that drive broad patient access to Ipsen's medicines across Oncology, Rare Disease, and Neuroscience — translating clinical and economic value into coverage decisions that benefit patients and align with business objectives. What You'll Do Build and sustain executive-level relationships with national payer accounts, including commercial health plans and PBMs Lead formulary positioning efforts, contract negotiations, and pull-through initiatives for assigned accounts Develop account plans grounded in payer-specific clinical, economic, and operational priorities Communicate clinical data, health economics evidence, and population management value propositions to coverage decision-makers Partner cross-functionally with market access, medical affairs, brand teams, and government affairs to align account strategy with enterprise goals Monitor the evolving reimbursement and coverage landscape and translate insights into actionable account intelligence Support patient access and affordability programs in coordination with hub services and specialty pharmacy partners What We're Looking For Significant experience in pharmaceutical or biopharmaceutical market access, managed care account management, or payer-facing commercial roles Deep knowledge of the US payer ecosystem — commercial insurers, PBMs, Medicare Part D, and specialty benefit structures Demonstrated ability to negotiate complex contracts and navigate formulary review processes at national accounts Familiarity with specialty therapeutic areas; experience in Oncology or Rare Disease is a strong advantage Exceptional communication, analytical, and relationship-building skills Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree in business, health economics, or a life science discipline preferred Willingness to travel as required to support national account responsibilities About Ipsen Ipsen is a mid-sized global biopharmaceutical company with nearly a century of scientific heritage, dedicated to developing transformative medicines for patients with serious conditions in Oncology, Rare Disease, and Neuroscience.
