Mercor is seeking a Music Expert to author, review, and annotate technical tasks to evaluate AI model performance on music and musicology problems. The ideal candidate has a DMA or PhD in Music or Musicology, or MM with 3+ years of experience, or BM or BA in Music with 5+ years of experience.
Requirements
- DMA or PhD in Music or Musicology, or MM with 3+ years teaching, performance, or research experience, or BM or BA in Music with 5+ years teaching, performance, or composition experience
- Working fluency in at least two of: theory, history/musicology, performance practice, composition, ethnomusicology
- Comfortable reading and interpreting scores, harmonic analyses, and spectrograms
- Clear technical writing; able to articulate reasoning step-by-step in written form
