This full-time role is based at our sustainment center in Oklahoma City and requires on-site work. About the Role We're seeking a mechanical engineer with specialized expertise in exhaust and nozzle system design to join our Oklahoma City team. In this P2-level position, you'll take ownership of mechanical design projects focused on developing exhaust systems that meet the exacting performance, thermal, and durability standards of military platforms. What You'll Do Design exhaust and nozzle systems using CAD software, translating system requirements into detailed mechanical architectures Perform thermal and structural analysis using finite element methods to predict component performance under operational conditions Evaluate materials and manufacturing processes to balance performance, cost, and producibility Support prototype fabrication, assembly, and ground testing of exhaust assemblies Develop technical documentation, engineering drawings, and design specifications to manufacturing standards Partner with test and systems teams to validate designs and implement engineering improvements Contribute to design reviews and provide technical problem-solving on mechanical challenges What We're Looking For Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional engineering experience Hands-on proficiency with CAD systems (CATIA, Pro/ENGINEER, ANSYS, or equivalent) Strong foundation in mechanical analysis, materials selection, and heat transfer principles Demonstrated experience designing or analyzing mechanical assemblies and systems Clear technical communication skills and ability to collaborate across engineering disciplines Detail-oriented approach with strong problem-solving capability U.S. citizenship is required, as this position involves access to controlled defense program information About RTX RTX is a global aerospace and defense technology company advancing critical capabilities for government and commercial customers.
