MGH-Spray Machine Operator

Rheem is hiring a full-time MGH-Spray Machine Operator at its Water Heater Division facility in Montgomery, Alabama — a hands-on production role for candidates who take pride in precision, consistency, and quality manufacturing.

About the Role

As a Spray Machine Operator with Rheem's Montgomery-based Water Heater Division, you will run and oversee spray coating equipment as part of a structured manufacturing line. This position calls for a detail-oriented operator who can follow documented procedures, interact with computerized controls, and maintain accurate production records — all while supporting the quality standards that Rheem's water heating products are built on.

What You'll Do

• Operate spray equipment in accordance with established production procedures, using a computer touch-screen interface to control equipment settings and parameters
• Perform equipment set-up at the start of production runs and make necessary adjustments to maintain proper operation throughout the shift
• Monitor wet mill processes to ensure coating application meets defined specifications
• Periodically enter quality and production data into a computer database, maintaining accurate and timely records
• Conduct visual and procedural quality checks on output to identify and escalate any deviations from standard
• Follow all plant safety protocols, including proper handling of spray materials and use of required personal protective equipment
• Communicate proactively with supervisors and team members regarding equipment status, production issues, or quality concerns
• Support general housekeeping and 5S standards in the work area

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated ability to operate industrial spray or coating equipment, or a strong willingness and aptitude to learn
• Comfort using computer-based controls and touch-screen interfaces in a manufacturing environment
• Ability to perform basic set-up and changeover tasks on production equipment
• Basic computer skills sufficient to enter and review data in a production or quality database
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing consistent, high-quality results
• Ability to stand, move, and work on the production floor for a full shift
• Reliable attendance and a team-first approach to daily production goals
• Prior experience in a manufacturing, assembly, or industrial production environment is a plus
