About the Role

As a Meter Services Technician with Cobb County Government, you'll be a key part of the daily operations that keep clean, reliable water flowing across the County. Based in the Field Services division in Kennesaw, you'll spend your days in the field responding to a wide range of customer and system needs. Because water service never stops, this position also shares responsibility for emergency response on a weekly rotating basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Process new customer service connections (gains) and account closures (finals)
• Complete delinquent service orders and follow up on account-related field requests
• Investigate and resolve high bill complaints by checking meters and usage on-site
• Locate and report leaks, and address stopped or malfunctioning meters
• Diagnose and help correct water pressure and flow issues throughout Cobb County
• Respond to after-hours emergency calls during scheduled weekly on-call rotations

Qualifications

• Comfort working independently outdoors in varied weather and field conditions
• Strong customer service skills for in-person interactions with County residents
• Ability to troubleshoot meter, pressure, and flow problems methodically
• Reliability and flexibility to participate in a rotating after-hours on-call schedule
• A valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites across the County
