In this critical role, you'll provide mental health care to individuals throughout the correctional system and support their reintegration into the community. About the Role This part-time position allows you to deliver mental health services within a large urban jail system where approximately one in four newly admitted individuals requires mental health intervention. You'll work with a dedicated correctional health team to address the mental health needs of a diverse and vulnerable population. Your Responsibilities Perform mental health intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations for individuals entering the jail system Develop and implement individualized treatment plans addressing mental health needs Provide ongoing counseling and psychotherapy services in a correctional environment Coordinate discharge planning and linkage to community mental health resources Document clinical assessments and progress in the electronic health record system Collaborate with physicians, nurses, case managers, and correctional security staff Respond to mental health crises and provide de-escalation support Who You Are You hold an active, unencumbered New York State license as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), or Psychologist. You're drawn to working with justice-involved individuals and possess the clinical skills and emotional resilience needed in a structured, security-focused setting.
