Master Network Engineer – Security Infrastructure

GovCIO is hiring a full-time Master Network Engineer – Security Infrastructure based in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma County, to deliver expert-level security network engineering in direct support of the US Courts system.

About the Role

This senior engineering position sits at the intersection of federal network operations and advanced security architecture. You will own the design and sustained operation of enterprise-grade security infrastructure spanning data centers and field locations across the country, ensuring the judicial network operates at the highest levels of availability and protection.

What You'll Do

• Architect, deploy, and operate next-generation firewall platforms and web security proxy solutions protecting federal court network environments
• Maintain high-availability network operations across geographically distributed data centers and nationwide field sites
• Define and enforce network security policies, segmentation strategies, and access control frameworks consistent with federal standards and compliance obligations
• Administer intrusion detection and prevention systems, VPN tunneling infrastructure, and encrypted communications channels
• Drive root cause analysis and lead rapid resolution of complex network security incidents
• Translate federal stakeholder requirements into scalable, secure network architectures and detailed engineering documentation
• Produce and maintain current network diagrams, runbooks, and standard operating procedures
• Provide technical mentorship to less senior network engineers on the team

What We're Looking For

• Extensive experience architecting and operating security infrastructure within large-scale or federal network environments
• Expert-level proficiency with next-generation firewall technologies such as Palo Alto Networks, Cisco Firepower, or equivalent enterprise platforms
• Demonstrated command of web proxy, content inspection, and secure internet gateway solutions
• Strong grasp of routing and switching protocols, network segmentation, and zero-trust principles
• Familiarity with NIST security frameworks and federal government network security requirements
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US government Public Trust suitability determination
• US citizenship required to meet federal program eligibility
• Advanced certifications such as CCIE Security, CISSP, or comparable credentials strongly preferred
