Responsibilities Execute mid-to-expert break-fix and preventive tasks, including monitoring running equipment to isolate root causes, disassembling units, inspecting components for wear or damage, adjusting functional parts and instruments, replacing or reworking defective pieces, validating electrical circuitry and mechanical performance, and restoring machine tools. Locate and order necessary parts, supplies, and repair materials. Carry out maintenance activities independently in line with accepted industry practices. Set up and run multiple metalworking operations such as lathes, drill presses, grinders and similar tools to fabricate or restore components, and perform welding when needed. Uphold 5S organization and general cleanliness standards in the work area. Lead and contribute to continuous-improvement efforts that improve processes, outcomes and cost efficiency. Enter accurate service records and examine history within the computerized maintenance management system. Diagnose control-system hardware, software and configuration faults and implement effective solutions. Apply predictive-maintenance tools to gather and interpret equipment-condition data. Coach less-experienced technicians, provide guidance to small groups, and take on higher-level tasks as part of skill development. Finish required on-the-job learning and technical self-study modules to expand capabilities. Observe every safety policy, regulation and technical instruction while remaining alert to hazards and correcting unsafe actions or conditions.
