Maintenance – Special Projects

Bristol Management Services is hiring a full-time Maintenance – Special Projects Technician to join its operations team in North Long Beach, Los Angeles County. If you thrive on solving complex facility challenges and driving meaningful improvements on the plant floor, this role is built for you.

About the Role

As a Special Projects Technician, you'll sit at the intersection of hands-on maintenance work and strategic operational improvement. Working closely with engineers, maintenance leads, and plant personnel across the North Long Beach facility, you'll take ownership of targeted initiatives designed to boost efficiency, reduce downtime, and keep critical systems running at peak performance.

What You'll Do

• Plan, manage, and execute hands-on maintenance projects from initiation through completion
• Install, route, terminate, and manage electrical and data cables throughout the facility
• Collaborate daily with engineers, maintenance staff, and plant operations personnel to scope and deliver project objectives
• Identify opportunities to improve operational workflows and recommend sustainable corrective actions
• Perform skilled maintenance tasks including equipment installation, mechanical repairs, and systems troubleshooting
• Maintain accurate records of project progress, materials used, and work performed
• Follow all safety protocols, lockout/tagout procedures, and regulatory compliance standards
• Support the broader maintenance team on scheduled preventive maintenance activities as needed

What We're Looking For

• Demonstrated experience in industrial or commercial maintenance, with a focus on special or capital projects
• Hands-on proficiency with cable installation and management — electrical, low-voltage, or structured cabling
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills in a plant or manufacturing environment
• Proven ability to coordinate across departments and manage multiple project workstreams simultaneously
• Solid understanding of safety standards including OSHA regulations and lockout/tagout (LOTO) practices
• Self-directed work style with the organizational skills to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines
• High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training or relevant certifications a plus
