Maintenance Associate

Community Academies of New Orleans (CANO) is hiring a full-time Maintenance Associate to help keep our New Orleans, Orleans Parish campuses safe, clean, and fully operational for students and staff every day.

About the Role

As a Maintenance Associate at Community Academies of New Orleans, you will play a hands-on part in caring for our school facilities across the New Orleans metropolitan area. This on-site, full-time position is ideal for a dependable, detail-minded professional who takes pride in well-maintained learning environments and enjoys solving practical problems. The posted salary range for this role is $35,000 – $40,000.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine upkeep, repairs, and general maintenance of school buildings and grounds
• Respond promptly to facility requests to minimize disruption to the school day
• Support cleanliness, safety, and readiness of classrooms, common areas, and outdoor spaces
• Perform basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and equipment checks as needed
• Identify potential hazards and report larger issues to facilities leadership
• Help implement consistent operational practices that keep campuses running smoothly

Qualifications

• Prior experience in building maintenance, facilities, or a related trade is preferred
• Working knowledge of common repair tools and general upkeep tasks
• Reliability, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage time across multiple sites
• A team-oriented attitude and commitment to supporting a positive school setting
• Ability to work on-site in New Orleans, Orleans Parish (this role is not remote)
