About the Role As Legal Counsel, Employment at Norstella, you will serve as a trusted advisor to People teams and business leaders across a fast-growing global organization. This is an on-site position embedded in a dynamic, mission-driven environment where legal guidance directly supports the company's work helping pharmaceutical and biotech clients bring life-saving therapies to patients faster. What You'll Do Provide day-to-day legal counsel on the full spectrum of employment law matters, including hiring practices, performance management, terminations, and reductions in force Draft, review, and negotiate employment-related agreements such as offer letters, severance arrangements, separation agreements, and restrictive covenant provisions Advise HR and senior leadership on compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including Title VII, the ADA, FMLA, FLSA, and applicable Utah statutes Lead or support internal workplace investigations, partnering with HR and outside counsel as appropriate Develop, audit, and maintain employee-facing policies and the employee handbook to reflect evolving legal requirements Deliver training to managers and HR professionals on employment law obligations and best practices Manage employment-related litigation and agency charges, coordinating with outside counsel to control risk and cost Support mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions by conducting employment-law diligence and advising on workforce integration Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting the workforce and proactively communicate impact to stakeholders What We're Looking For J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing Meaningful experience in employment law, whether gained in private practice, in-house, or a combination of both Solid command of federal and multi-state employment statutes and regulatory frameworks Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and advise decisively in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to translate complex legal concepts for non-lawyer audiences Collaborative, business-oriented mindset with the judgment to weigh legal risk against operational needs Experience supporting HR teams and executive stakeholders directly About Norstella Norstella is a premier global life sciences intelligence platform combining proprietary…
