What You'll Do Teach multiple theater and dance courses each academic year, adapting instruction to diverse learner needs and abilities Design syllabi, assignments, and assessments that promote student engagement and achievement in theater and dance disciplines Direct, mentor, and support student productions, performances, or choreographic projects as appropriate to your discipline Hold regular office hours and provide academic advising to students majoring or minoring in theater and dance Participate actively in department meetings, curriculum planning, and program assessment initiatives Contribute to a collaborative, inclusive learning environment that serves students from varied backgrounds Stay current with developments in theater and dance pedagogy, practice, and artistic expression What We're Looking For Master's degree or higher in Theater, Dance, or a closely related discipline Demonstrated teaching experience at the university level or equivalent professional experience in theater or dance Expertise in one or more areas of theater and new dance, such as performance, choreography, playwriting, design, or dramaturgy Strong commitment to student-centered, experiential learning and inclusive pedagogical practices Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues across the arts and humanities Professional experience in theater or dance performance, production, or creative work About Cal Poly Pomona Since 1938, Cal Poly Pomona has prepared students through hands-on learning, critical inquiry, and real-world application.
