UNC-Chapel Hill is hiring a full-time Lead Residential Advisor in Chapel Hill, Orange County, to guide front-line staff and strengthen community support for women and children in the Horizons Residential Programs.
About the Role
As the Lead Residential Advisor at UNC-Chapel Hill, you will build on the core Residential Advisor role by taking on expanded responsibilities and a greater level of accountability. Working hand-in-hand with the Program Manager, you will help shape and lead a paraprofessional team that staffs the Horizons Residential Programs around the clock, ensuring residents receive consistent, compassionate care every hour of every day.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner closely with the Program Manager to recruit, onboard, and develop 24/7 front-line residential staff.
- Train, coach, and oversee the day-to-day work of paraprofessional team members.
- Direct and monitor the delivery of community support services for the women and children served by the Horizons Residential Programs.
- Carry the added duties and higher-level responsibilities that distinguish the Lead role from the standard Residential Advisor position.
- Help maintain a safe, supportive, and well-run residential environment for residents at all times.
Qualifications
- Experience providing community support or residential services, ideally to women and children or comparable populations.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and direct a team in a paraprofessional or front-line setting.
- Comfort working within a 24/7 staffing model and supporting a continuously operating program.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and organizational skills to work alongside a Program Manager.
