About the Role

As a Laboratory Technologist I at Valley Medical in Burnsville, Dakota County, you will handle the hands-on work of processing and analyzing both clinical and forensic specimens. This full-time, on-site position may focus on a single testing area or span responsibilities across multiple laboratory departments, depending on operational needs. You will also work closely with clinic staff and clients, guiding them through test ordering and correct specimen collection.

Key Responsibilities

• Process incoming clinical and forensic specimens and prepare them for testing
• Perform analysis of samples accurately and according to established protocols
• Enter and manage laboratory data with a high degree of accuracy
• Support work within an assigned testing area, or contribute across several lab departments as required
• Assist clinic personnel and clients with ordering laboratory tests and ensuring proper specimen collection
• Report to and coordinate with laboratory department leadership

Qualifications

• Background or training suited to clinical and/or forensic laboratory testing
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and sample handling
• Ability to follow standardized laboratory procedures and quality standards
• Effective communication skills for assisting clinic staff and clients with test ordering and collection
• Comfort working independently within one testing area or flexibly across lab departments
