Columbus College of Art & Design is seeking a detail-oriented Lab Technician - Printmaking to keep our on-campus printmaking facilities running smoothly in Grandview Heights, Franklin County. About the Role
As the Lab Technician - Printmaking at Columbus College of Art & Design, you will be the backbone of our printmaking studio. You will care for the equipment, manage supplies, mentor student staff, and serve as a go-to resource for both students and faculty working in the lab.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, service, and ensure the safe operation of all printmaking tools and equipment in the lab.
- Track inventory and order studio supplies so materials are ready when students and faculty need them.
- Hire, schedule, and supervise student employees who assist in the printmaking facility.
- Share technical know-how and offer hands-on guidance to students learning printmaking techniques.
- Support faculty by preparing the lab for instruction and troubleshooting equipment issues as they arise.
- Help uphold a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the studio.
Qualifications
- Practical familiarity with printmaking processes, tools, and studio equipment.
- Strong organizational skills to manage supply ordering and lab maintenance.
- Experience overseeing or mentoring others, ideally in an academic or studio setting.
- A collaborative, service-minded approach to assisting students and faculty.
- Attention to safety and the ability to keep a shared workspace running efficiently.
