About the Role
As a Kindergarten Teacher with Harnett County Schools, you will guide students through their first structured classroom experience, building the foundational literacy, numeracy, and social skills that shape every grade that follows. This elementary teaching position (Grades K–5 classification) is based at North Harnett Primary and offers the chance to make a lasting impact on the children of our community.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate lessons aligned with kindergarten curriculum standards.
- Create a safe, welcoming, and engaging classroom where every child feels supported.
- Introduce early reading, writing, and math concepts through hands-on, age-appropriate activities.
- Monitor student progress and adapt instruction to meet individual learning needs.
- Foster positive social and emotional development among young learners.
- Communicate regularly with families and collaborate with fellow educators and school staff.
Qualifications
- Eligibility for or possession of appropriate state teaching certification for elementary education (Grades K–5).
- A genuine passion for working with early-childhood learners.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to design engaging, inclusive lessons for diverse young students.
